My name is Lindsey Martin. I am the Elementary School Counselor for grades 4K-5. I travel between Black Earth and Mazomanie.
I got my BS in Psychology at UW-La Crosse and my MS in School Counseling at UW-Stout. I worked as a 4K-12 School Counselor up north, then a 4K-12 School Counselor in Southwest Wisconsin. Before I became a counselor, I had a background in CNA and caregiving.
I have 2 daughters, a spouse, and we have an eclectic herd of pets including Gnarly the Rottweiler, Rhubarb the rabbit, Ouch! the hedgehog, and a small flock of chickens. We also are "puppy raisers" to help train guide dogs for blind & visually impaired people, so we typically also have a young lab in our home as well.
Outside of school, I am a Certified Yoga Instructor, although I am not teaching classes at this time, but I do practice for leisure. I also enjoy road biking and mountain biking. Other hobbies include handcrafts like knitting and occasional singing.
I love traveling, domestic and international. I have been to 48 of our great states and done a couple international vacations. I was born a traveler; I was born in Alaska, then lived in Washington and Colorado before starting kindergarten. Wisconsin is where I grew up and I plan to stay here.
